260W PoE Budget
24x FE PoE + 2x GE Uplink
1x GE SFP
19-inch Rack-Mount
802.3af/at
Fanless, -10~70°C

Overview

S2402G1GFI packs 24 auto-sensing 802.3af/at PoE ports, 2 Gigabit RJ45 uplinks, and 1 Gigabit SFP slot into a 19-inch rack chassis with a 260W total power budget. It's built to be the one PoE switch an installer needs for an entire floor or yard: enough ports and enough power budget to cover a full hotel floor, school building, or warehouse zone from a single equipment rack, with a larger 10K MAC address table sized for the higher device count this port class attracts.

Is This the Right Fit?

Six real deployment scenarios matched to this model's actual datasheet specifications.

Multi-Floor HotelsOne 24-port rack switch per floor IDF covers every room-corridor and stairwell camera without daisy-chaining smaller switches.
Schools & Training CampusesA single rack unit in the server room feeds an entire building's classroom and hallway cameras.
Mid-Size Office Towers & Business ParksCentralizes camera and AP wiring for a full floor from one rack-mounted chassis.
Mid-to-Large WarehousesDock doors, aisles, and yard poles on one switch, sized for the device count a full warehouse floor needs.
Community & Compound Perimeter SecurityGate, perimeter fence, and clubhouse cameras run from one rack unit at the security office.
Chain Store & Franchise HeadquartersHQ back-office or a large flagship store standardizes on one 24-port rack switch per site.
Not a good fit if:
  • Not a managed switch -- no VLAN segmentation, spanning-tree, or web management interface. Choose a managed model if the project needs VLANs or loop-prevention protocols.
  • No ring-network redundancy protocol -- built for star, tree, and bus topologies, not self-healing ring recovery.
  • Requires 19-inch rack space and commercial-grade conditions -- this is a rack-mount chassis (not desktop or DIN-rail), rated -10°C to +70°C rather than industrial wide-temperature.

24-Port PoE Switch FAQ — S2402G1GFI

How many cameras can the S2402G1GFI power at the same time?
All 24 PoE ports together. The 260 W full-load budget averages just under 11 W per port, and typical IP cameras draw 4–12 W, so a 24-camera build works with sensible planning. Any single port can push up to 30 W (IEEE 802.3af/at) for a PTZ, and smart detection protects non-PoE gear.
Can one unit cover a whole floor or warehouse zone?
That is the design brief: 24 PoE ports and a 260 W budget from a single 19-inch 1U rack unit, sized for a full hotel floor, school building or warehouse zone. The 10K MAC address table is larger than usual for this class, matching the higher device count, and switching capacity is 19.8 Gbps at 14.73 Mpps.
How do I reach a camera beyond 100 m of cable?
Use PoE Extend mode: the port keeps delivering PoE and data up to 250 m, with that link's speed reduced to 10 Mbps — fine for a single camera stream at a far gate or fence corner. Standard ports run 100 m. Pinout is Mode A, power over the data pairs, per IEEE 802.3af/at.
What uplinks connect it back to the recorder room?
Two 10/100/1000Base-T RJ45 uplinks and one 1000Base-X SFP slot. Copper handles a same-room NVR; the SFP takes a fiber module when the recorder sits in another building past the 100 m copper limit. Star, tree and bus topologies are supported with store-and-forward switching throughout.
What are the build and environmental specs for the rack room?
A fanless 19-inch 1U metal chassis, 440 × 136.5 × 44 mm, 2.6 kg, IP30 rated, with a built-in DC 52 V 5 A supply on AC 176–264 V input. It operates from −10 °C to +70 °C at 5–95 % humidity, carries a watchdog auto-reset, and lists a 50,000-hour MTBF. Ships 10 units per carton for project orders.
